Wat Phumin is an important and the most well-know temple of Nan province. A chronicle of the Nan goes that the temple was founded in B.E. 2139 (1969 AD) by Phracho chetabutpromin, the ruler of Nan. It was firstly name after its founder but was changed to the current name later.
